Valuation Trends in the Investment Management and Private Equity Industries

Representatives from Deloitte's Business Valuation practice will be leading a discussion on valuation trends in the investment management and private equity industries. The course will provide an overview of valuation hot topics based on a review of recent regulatory actions and Deloitte client surveys. Additionally, the course will provide insight on industry practices related to valuation policies and procedures and ways to enhance valuation documentation.

About the Speakers:

George Psarianos is a director and the National Portfolio Services Leader in the Valuation Services Practice of DTBA’s Advisory Service practice based in New York. George has more than 14 years of experience in the valuation profession with a particular experience in the valuations of business enterprises, including private and publicly traded equity, debt securities, loan portfolios, tangible assets and intangible corporate assets. George has performed valuations of businesses, both domestic and international, ranging in size from small, closely held businesses to divisions of Fortune 500 companies. He has performed these appraisals in connection with financial reporting, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, division spin-offs, estate planning, and tax planning.
George has experience in serving national and multinational clients in a broad range of industries, with a concentration in the financial institution sector. He has significant experience serving financial services firms, including advising and performing analyses for asset managers, pension funds, commercial banks, broker/dealers, mortgage banks, and consumer finance companies.

Andrea Shiah is a manager in DTBA’s Business Valuation practice and is part of the Financial Services team in New York. She has participated in a number of valuations for both public and privately held entities, for purposes including financial reporting, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and tax planning. Andrea has experience in the valuations of business enterprises, including private and publicly traded equity, debt securities, and intangible assets.
Andrea has performed valuations of businesses, both domestic and international, ranging from small, closely held companies to Fortune 500 conglomerates. Clients served primarily belong to the financial services industry, including performing analyses for asset managers, commercial banks, broker/dealers, mortgage banks and consumer finance companies.
